State Representative endorses Pompeo because of his “conservative values and business experience.” The Pompeo for Congress campaign today announced that State Representative Phil Hermanson, who represents much of south Wichita, has added his name to a growing list of Republican leaders and conservatives who have endorsed first-time candidate Mike Pompeo.
“I have known Mike Pompeo for quite some time, and not only is he a conservative that we can count on to fight for our values, but he is a businessman with experience in the aircraft industry who knows how to get Kansans back to work,” Hermanson stated.
“The simple fact is that no other candidate for congress combines the conservative values and business experience of Mike Pompeo. I am proud to lend him my support and encourage all Republicans to rally around Mike so we can keep this seat in Republican hands next year,” Hermanson concluded.
Hermanson joins other high-profile Republicans who have endorsed Mike Pompeo ranging from those who had considered the race for congress themselves, such as Wichita City Councilor Sue Schlapp, former White House aide Matt Schlapp and State Senator Carolyn McGinn, to conservative leader and former gubernatorial candidate Richard “Dick” Peckham.
“I really do appreciate Representative Hermanson’s willingness to step-out on a limb and endorse my candidacy,” stated Mike Pompeo. “He is a very well-respected leader whose service to the people of Kansas I personally admire. As a political newcomer, I am very grateful that trusted leaders like Phil are willing to help spread the word about our campaign. With the help of great friends like him, I have every confidence that we’ll be successful,” Pompeo concluded.
