WASHINGTON – Kansas 4th District Congressman-elect Mike Pompeo will spend the week ahead in Washington, D.C. for the 112th Congress New Member Orientation.
“I’m eager to hit the ground running and begin to bring a positive change to Washington based on common sense Kansas values,” Pompeo said. “For 20 months, I campaigned on the principles of smaller government, less spending and individual freedoms and now the real work begins. I will join my fellow Republican freshmen to carry through on the promises we made along the campaign trail.”
Pompeo left Wichita last Thursday to begin working on his transition from a business leader in Kansas to the new Congressman from the 4th District. He will return to Kansas to continue the transition process next week.
“Kansans, like other Americans, have sent a clear message to the leaders of our nation that the out of control spending and assault on our Constitution must stop,” Pompeo continued. “We must work toward creating an economy that will reduce government and support private sector growth.”
“This week we will take the first steps toward putting our country back on the right track to restore our economic prosperity and economic freedoms. I’m excited to get to work and bring the concerns of Kansans to Washington.”
