Kansas Farm Bureau Endorses Pompeo in the 4th Congressional District
WICHITA, KS – Businessman and military veteran Mike Pompeo has received the endorsement of the Kansas Farm Bureau, the state’s leading grassroots organization for farm and ranch families.
“Farmers and ranchers across the 4th District of Kansas are tired of the increased regulation and government intervention into one of our nation’s oldest and most important industries,” commented Mike Pompeo. “The onslaught of estate tax, capital gains tax and trade restriction is threatening to kill the Kansas agricultural industry. The federal government needs to get out of the way so that our farmers and ranchers can do what they do best – feed the world.”
Over the past year and a half, Pompeo has toured farm and ranch operations and has met with many concerned Kansas farmers who are uncertain about the future health and stability of the state’s agricultural industry.
Jesse McCurry of McCurry Brothers said of the endorsement: “Coming from a farming family it is very important that Mike has shown his willingness to take on EPA regulations, Cap and Trade, and tax policy, all while holding onto conservative values.”
“I am impressed with Mike’s work ethic, passion, dedication, and intellect – and he communicates his ideas well,” commented Jim Beason, Chautauqua County Farm Bureau President. “I am very impressed, and haven’t been this impressed with a candidate for a long time. Mike relates to me and I think he will be a good leader for this district.”
“Farmers and ranchers in the 4th District are already struggling with unfair regulation that slows production and profit,” continued Pompeo. “They’re even more concerned that with a liberal Democratic Congress, the passage of cap and trade and other energy legislation would put the nail in the coffin for the Kansas agricultural industry.”
“We need to educate President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid on the way of life in rural America – and about the importance of a strong farm and ranch industry in Kansas for the rest of the United States,” concluded Pompeo.
