PARK CITY, KS – The mayor of Park City today announced his support of Mike Pompeo in the 4th District Congressional race.
“I met with Mike Pompeo early in his campaign for the 4th District and I was looking for someone with patriotism and conservative values. I’ve found these things in Mr. Pompeo,” commented Park City Mayor Emil Bergquist.
“My confidence in him to be our next Congressman comes from two factors. The first is his life record of accomplishments and the second is how he lives the ideals that he promotes. Those marks speak for themselves – and are just as important of the consistency of his purpose statement. He is the same gentleman I met a year ago and that is why I heartily support Mike Pompeo to be our next Congressman from the 4th District,” concluded Bergquist.
Mayor Bergquist is in his second term as mayor of Park City.
“I am humbled and honored by the people who continue to come around the Pompeo campaign,” commented Mike Pompeo. “I am proud to have the support of Mayor Bergquist and other local and state leaders who know all too well about the burdens the federal government is extending to main street America.”
“The residents of Park City and communities across the 4th District have dealt with unfair federal regulation and micro-management for far too long. When we have federal and state regulations that make it impossible for companies to expand, we have a serious problem. I’ve been campaigning for more than a year and my message has not changed. I believe the federal government has lost its way and gotten away from the type of federal government the founders of our Constitution envisioned,” concluded Pompeo.
Bergquist’s endorsement adds to other mayoral endorsements for Pompeo across the 4th District, including Kristey Williams (Mayor of Augusta), Ben Lawrence (Mayor of Andover) and Tom McKibban (Mayor of El Dorado).
