Topeka, KS – At a press conference in the state capitol conservative State Senator Dick Kelsey, former 4th District Congressional candidate, formally endorsed businessman and military veteran Mike Pompeo.
“I will personally work for Mike’s victory in the August 3rd primary. I will urge all Republicans to rally around whoever is the victor on August 3rd. Republicans have the opportunity to retake the House of Representatives. To do so, it will be very important that Republicans retain the 4th District Congressional seat in Kansas,” commented Senator Kelsey.
“Susan and I consider Dick and Doris friends and we are praying for them as they meet the challenges ahead,” said Pompeo. “As a State Senator, Dick built a solid conservative reputation fighting for the Kansas family and free market principals. His tireless efforts defending the sanctity of all human life and the traditional family have been a model for all elected officials,” said Mike Pompeo. I am exceptionally proud and honored to have Dick on my team to bring those values to the United States Congress.”
“In a campaign,” said Pompeo “you always learn from others and take courage from the strength and depth of their commitment to our country – Senator Kelsey has done that for me and I will be a better Congressman for it.”
“I’ve chosen to endorse and support Mike because I believe he will bring a balanced approach to the challenges facing us in our country,” continued Senator Kelsey. “Mike will work hard to restore our economy. He shares my values on family issues such as protecting the unborn. His military background will enable him to address the needs of our national defense – which is the number one role of the federal government,” concluded Senator Kelsey.
“Over the last few months, I have seen first hand the fine campaign Dick has run and the tremendous outpouring of trust and support he has received from committed conservatives across the 4th District,” Pompeo said. “I would like to take a moment to invite those patriots to join our effort to take the pro-life and pro-family agenda to Washington, to help us bring fiscal sanity back to our Federal government, and to bring jobs back to Kansas. I will work hard to earn their support and to carry on the fight that Senator Kelsey will continue in his role as a Kansas State Senator.”
