Kansas Livestock Association endorses Pompeo

WICHITA, KS – The Kansas Livestock Association today announced its endorsement of businessman and military veteran Mike Pompeo in the Kansas 4th District Congressional race.

“The agricultural industry in Kansas is facing enormously burdensome federal regulations that are becoming more intrusive,” commented Mike Pompeo. “These regulations are choking our nation’s farmers and ranchers – keeping them from growing and expanding their operations to feed the world. The estate tax, capital gains tax, trade restrictions and talk of cap and trade must be laid to rest before it is too late.”

Carrol Campbell, owner of Campbell Farms and a Kansas Livestock Association member agrees Mike Pompeo is the right man to go to Washington to fight for Kansas farmers and ranchers.

“I’ve visited with Mike several times and he’s spent some time on my dairy farm in Winfield,” Campbell said. “When you combine his interest and dedication to the Kansas agricultural industry with his business knowledge and moral values, he will stand up to protect our rights and business practices.”

The endorsement of the Kansas Livestock Association adds to the Kansas Farm Bureau endorsement for Pompeo that was announced last week.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of the two leading agricultural industry organizations in Kansas,” continued Pompeo. “Our federal government needs to fight to make sure Kansas agricultural products can be sold around the world. We need to be ready to stand up to big government legislation written by lawmakers who don’t have a clue what it’s like to live and work in an agricultural based economy.”
