Pompeo: The choice for the Air Force tanker contract is now clear
WICHITA, KS – Veteran and businessman Mike Pompeo today commented on Northrop Grumman’s decision to halt its bid process for the Air Force tanker contract.
“I know from personal experience as an aircraft component manufacturer that the skill and work ethic of Kansas aviation workers is second to none,” Pompeo said. “Northrop Grumman’s decision to pull out of the bidding process is an acknowledgement that the Air Force requirements can best be met by an aircraft that is built in substantial part right here in the 4th District of Kansas.”
The selection of Boeing by the Department of Defense to build the next fleet of air refueling tankers would translate into hundreds of jobs in south central Kansas, home of the best and most talented aviation workers in the industry,” concluded Pompeo.
The leaders of four of the largest aviation companies and employers in the 4
th District recently endorsed Pompeo in the 4
th District Congressional race. Dozens and dozens of hard working machinists, engineers and other aircraft manufacturing workers are also on board the continually expanding Pompeo Team.
