Pompeo concerned about the state of the 4th District
WICHITA, KS – Businessman and military veteran Mike Pompeo today commented on the President’s State of the Union address and how it affects Kansas.
“The chasm between the political class in Washington and the middle class continues to widen,” said Mike Pompeo. “It has taken the President a full year to realize that the priority for people in Kansas, and across America, is jobs. Even with that knowledge, he continues to pursue a job killing climate bill, wildly unpopular health care legislation and a reckless spending spree that will be a burden on future generations.”
“Jobs aren’t created by more government programs and more government borrowing. They are created by free people taking risks and pursuing their dreams, without the federal government getting in the way,” observed Mike Pompeo, founding member of Thayer Aerospace, a business that created over 500 jobs.
“After the pork-laden ‘stimulus’ bill, corporate takeovers, and giving rights to our terrorist enemies, this is not the time for the President to stay-the-course,” Pompeo stated. “America can do better.”
“Many families in Kansas are struggling to put food on the table and pay the bills,” Pompeo said in response to the President’s address. “While the President pays lip service to jobs and economic growth, his address made it clear that he will continue to push a social and economic agenda that is focused on picking winners and losers, instead of pursuing policies that will help working Americans.”
