Pompeo Challenges Tiahrt to Series of Debates
WICHITA—With the announcement that Todd Tiahrt will challenge businessman and U.S. Army veteran Mike Pompeo for the Republican nomination of Kansas’s 4th Congressional District, Congressman Pompeo issued the following statement:
“The people of the 4th District deserve the chance to hear directly from both Todd and me. I call on Todd to immediately agree to five debates between now and the August primary. This will give voters the opportunity to thoroughly examine the record and vision of both candidates.”
Courtney Moore, Pompeo For Congress campaign spokesperson, added, “As a campaign team, we are eager for Kansas Republican voters to be afforded this opportunity to compare two very different people and two very different candidates. These debates will show the stark contrast between the fiscally conservative Pompeo — ranked the 15th most conservative member of Congress — as against the pro-earmark, big-spending Tiahrt.”
